Hi, we’re Lindsey and Joe. Four years ago, our family became location-independent and started slow-traveling the world with our then-3-year-old daughter.
As early employees at Boundless Life, one of the leading companies in the family-travel space, together we helped nearly 500 families take the same leap we did. Thousands of conversations with families gave us a front-row seat to the biggest challenges they face when traveling for an extended period of time (30+ days).
Homeowners who travel don’t want to double-pay mortgage and accommodation while away, or rent the home they love to just anyone. Renters don't want to pay high transaction fees, stay in homes designed for short-term rentals, or be forced to reserve a booking before meeting the host.
We built Global Family Home Rentals to solve both sides of this equation. As a GFHR host, you'll have your home looked after by reliable, like-minded guests and cover your expenses. As a guest, you'll access move-in ready, family-friendly homes at a fair price. It's how traveling should be — simple, honest, and human.

Our membership model explained
We’re not like most booking platforms and that’s by design. Instead of charging high transaction fees every time you book, we’ve chosen a flat annual membership model. It’s a pricing structure built to support upfront connection, consistent community, and real savings.
Why no transaction fees? Most platforms earn money only when you book. That’s why they block your ability to communicate until after payment, hiding phone numbers and emails addresses. We believe the relationship should come first. Families are encouraged to connect and build trust before booking.
Why annual, not monthly? Community isn’t built in 30 days. An annual membership encourages long-term commitment, a shared sense of purpose, and trust. It also acts as a natural filter ensuring everyone here is truly invested in the community, not just passing through.
Why it’s worth it? Homes on GFHR are listed at below-market rates because our hosts price their homes to cover costs, not profit. That means families can save thousands per stay, making the annual fee pay for itself.
